MD5 File Hash Calculator
A browser md5sum: pick a file, get its MD5, compare with a published checksum. No upload.
Part of the free MD5 Hash Generator. Runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
MD5 File Hash Calculator
This is the in-browser equivalent of md5sum filename. Choose a file, wait for the digest, and paste the vendor’s MD5 into the verify box.
Worked example: Digest you would print next to a download
File contents
hello
md5sum line
5d41402abc4b2a76b9719d911017c592 hello.txt
Practical tip
Hash the file you will publish, not a rebuilt copy. Zip extra directories change the digest.

- 3Copy the result, then adapt the same steps in your editor, script, or pipeline.
MD5 File Hash Calculator FAQs
Large files?
Yes. Hashing is streamed in chunks so a multi-hundred-megabyte file does not need to sit fully as a string.
Does this match Get-FileHash -Algorithm MD5?
Yes, for the same bytes. PowerShell prints uppercase hex by default.
