Decode a Query String Online

A query string is easier to debug after decoding. Split on &, then decode each value so you can see the real filters, tokens and redirect targets.

Worked example: An encoded query

Encoded

q=css%20grid&city=S%C3%A3o%20Paulo

Decoded

q=css grid
city=São Paulo

Practical tip

Use the live decoder’s URL breakdown table: it splits protocol, host, path and every query key for you.

Decode a Query String Online FAQs

Should I decode the whole URL at once?

You can, but decoding a full URL will also decode encoded slashes in values. Decoding each parameter is safer.

Why is a parameter missing?

An unencoded & inside a value splits the query. The original sender should have encoded that value.
