JSON Viewer Online

A tree view makes deeply nested JSON navigable. Expand a branch to see its children, collapse the rest, and keep your place in a large payload. Paste text or upload a .json file to start exploring.

Worked example: Nested data shown with consistent indentation

Input

{"user":{"id":7,"address":{"city":"Pune","geo":{"lat":18.52,"lng":73.85}},"tags":["beta","pro"]}}

Structure to explore

{
  "user": {
    "id": 7,
    "address": {
      "city": "Pune",
      "geo": {
        "lat": 18.52,
        "lng": 73.85
      }
    },
    "tags": [
      "beta",
      "pro"
    ]
  }
}

Practical tip

Use the tree view to find the path to a value, then reference it in code as user.address.geo.lat. Arrays use numeric indexes such as tags[0].

How to use this JSON Formatter

  1. 1Use the live tool above — it runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your data.
  2. 2Paste the sample from the worked example, or use your own input.
  3. 3Copy the result, then adapt the same steps in your editor, script, or pipeline.

JSON Viewer Online FAQs

Can I open a .json file directly?

Yes. Use the upload control to load a local .json file. It is read in your browser and never uploaded.

How is the tree view different from formatted text?

Formatted text shows everything at once. The tree lets you fold and unfold branches, which is much easier for payloads with hundreds of nested fields.
